It’s that in today’s society, it’s trendy and popular and unfortunately successful to fake a crisis and soak up internet money for it. Why do work when you can just pretend you broke your leg and beg for free internet money? Then you can get that free Nintendo 3DS you’ve always wanted!
It’s enraging to me because they always end up taking advantage of goodhearted people who legitimately want to help someone who has been fucked over.
This zoe quinn gamergate thing is bigger than just video games. It’s everything. It’s life itself. It’s a good person trying to help someone, only to turn out that someone was just scamming everyone. It’s the success of the sociopath over the decent person.
I feel bad for the Bro Team guy and pals because they shouldn’t be getting ripped off like this, and there was really no warning signs for them to avoid this, they saw it as a friend needing help, so they helped, they are in no way at fault for getting scammed. That’s the worst part, the good people get punished just for being good.
